New American Song

If you’ve been reading about the progress of American Cruise Lines’ newest riverboat under construction, Modern Riverboat, you’ll be interested to learn that their “Modern Riverboat” now has a name, American Song.  The gleaming new American Song was launched into the Wicomico River in Maryland last week.

One of several of American Cruise Lines new riverboat series, the American Song is designed with a sleek contemporary look and is built with state-of-the-art technical features.  The ship is running seven weeks ahead of schedule and is already receiving its upper decks and outfitting. .

American Song has five decks, accommodates 190 passengers with 102 staterooms. The bow of American Song is designed to open, allowing a retractable rotating gangway to extend from the ship’s main deck directly to a river bank or dock. The uniqueness of this advanced bow and nimble gangway gives the ship the ability to make “bow landings” wherever needed.  According to American Cruise Lines, American Song will be the most technically superior, efficient, and environmentally friendly ship in U.S. river cruising.

The Inaugural season aboard American Song will begin in Fall 2018 on the Mississippi River.  In 2019, American Song will reposition to the  West Coast in 2019 for American Cruise Lines’ breathtaking Columbia and Snake River cruises.  If you’ve never experienced a cruise on the Mississippi or Columbia and Snake rivers, these are definitely cruises to put on your bucket list.
